Sunshine Fund
a.) In the event of the death of a Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District employee, flowers in an amount not to exceed $50., or a donation of $50 shall be sent to the employee's family.
b.) In the event of a bereavement of a BREA member (defined as the death of the employee's spouse, child. son-in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, parent-in-law, sibling, grandchild or member of the immediate household of the employee, flowers in an amount not to exceed $50 or a donation of $50 shall be sent to the bereaved member.
c.) In the event of a bereavement (defined as the death of the employee's spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, parent-in-law, sibling, grandchild or member of the immediate household of the employee) of a B-R Regional School District employee who is not a BREA member, a card shall be sent. However, in the event of special or unusual circumstances, the Board may elect to do something more.
d.) In the event of a BREA members medical incapacity causing an absence of ten days from school, flowers shall be sent at a cost not to exceed $35.
e.) In the event of hospitalization of a Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District employee, a card shall be sent.
f.) Upon the arrival of a new child. BREA members will be given a $25 Target gift card.
g.) In the event of the death of a current B-R Regional School District student, flowers in an amount not to exceed $50 or a donation of $50 shall be sent to the student's family.
h.) A BREA member shall be designated as Sunshine Chairperson, and will order flowers or bonds, or make donations, in accordance with these guidelines. That person shall have local dues paid by the Association. Building Representatives will notify this Sunshine Chairperson of any Sunshine "events" in each school. During school vacation periods, the Sunshine Chairperson shall be called directly by any member who becomes aware of a sunshine event. An Alternate shall be designated to serve in the event the Sunshine Chairperson is not available.
